Abstract
On 23‐24 February 2004 at NOAA's Space Environment Center in Boulder, Colo., the SEC, Virgin Atlantic Airways, and SolarMetrics hosted an aviation workshop on integrating space weather information into the operating procedures for commercial airlines. The meeting, with representatives from the industrial and academic communities, led to the formation of the International Committee for Space Weather Impacts on Aviation Safety working group.
