Abstract
A 24-year-old woman with a previous right shoulder dislocation presented to the emergency department with sudden onset of right shoulder pain after being struck by an open car door 3 days ago. On examination, there was a loss of the deltoid contour with a palpable defect (Figure 1). She had positive Dugas test findings and could perform flexion and abduction of the right arm up to 60 degrees as well as almost full external rotation without pain restraint. Standard projection (Figure 2) radiography and point-of-care ultrasound of the right shoulder were performed (Figure 3).
