Abstract

This case discusses a woman with a history of epilepsy who comes in with witnessed seizures and convulsions. The case follows her course throughout her hospitalization as her symptoms evolve, and her neurologic condition deteriorates throughout her hospital stay. The case revisits the discussion from the introductory chapter about the algorithmic approach to diagnosis and management in emergency situations in contrast to the methods we have employed in other cases so far in this book. In emergency or life-threatening situations, the role of pace and localization in emergency situations is limited but still highly valuable in limiting bias as the situation unfolds.
