Abstract

In this short manuscript, we discuss the role and present the practical aspects of a guidewire inserted distally inthe ipsilateral arm in facilitating venous localization and access in the context of cardiac rhythm managementdevice implantation, reducing the risks for complications, such as pneumo- and hemothorax. We believe that thisnotion may encourage practicing device-implanting physicians to keep this approach in mind and as a fallbackstrategy during their cases.
