Abstract
A wideband quasi-Yagi antenna using four-step slotline with metasurface for sub-6G applications is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna is composed of a novel quasi-Yagi antenna using four-step slotline with a metasurface on the front side, and an integrated balun at the bottom on the back side. The four-step slotline along the center of the antenna is used to improve the impedance matching and the metasurface is used to enhance the gain. Simulation results show that the proposed antenna has a wide bandwidth of 2.99-5.83GHz(64.4%) and a stable gain of 5.74-7.75dBi. To verify the validity of the proposed approach, a prototype of the proposed antenna was fabricated and measured. The proposed antenna can find its use in sub-6G applications as a wideband high-gain base station antenna.
