Abstract

This article presents an inset-fed wideband simple rectangular microstrip patch antenna (RMPA) for Sub-6 GHz 5G application. The volume of the studied antenna is 40× 40× 1.575mm 3 having a partial ground plane. Rogers RT 5880 is exercised as a dielectric layer. The operating band of the proposed inset-fed RMPA ranges from 3.6959GHz to 6.8939 GHz covering the partial N77/N78 band and fully N79 for sub-6 GHz. The proposed inset-fed RMPA allows operating as a wideband antenna with an excellent return loss of -33.235dB, a good efficiency (74.95%), and VSWR (1.0446). At resonance point 5.11, the gain and directivity are 3.342 dB and 4.894 dBi respectively. All the results areestimated by using the CSTMWS suite simulation tool.
