Abstract
This paper proposes a new wideband bandstop frequency selective surface (FSS) operating in Ku-band. In order to meet the demand of wideband and large incident wave angle, a FSS structure which consists a square loop and a four-legged loaded element is designed. The two FSS layers have the same FSS unit configuration and the different period. Both of the FSS structures of two layer resonances are combined to form a wider bandwidth. The simulation results show that the FSS has a wide relative bandwidth which up to 57% for TE and TM mode. A panel of this FSS was fabricated and tested in the microwave anechoic chamber. Measurements indicate that the FSS has a wide bandwidth from 10GHz to 18GHz.
