Abstract

A wideband dual-polarized base station antenna for 2G/3G/LTE bands is proposed in this paper. The antenna consists of two T-shaped coupling feeding structure which result in a wide impedance bandwidth, a pair of double-loop-shaped dipole which are located perpendicularly, and a box-shaped reflector to realize a unidirectional radiation pattern. A prototype of the proposed antenna is designed, fabricated and measured. The simulated results have a good agreement with measured results. The measured results show an overlapped impedance bandwidth of 50.4% with SWR<1.5 from 1.69–2.83GHz for two ports, and a high port to port isolation of 26dB. A stable gain of 8.1±0.4dBi and a stable radiation pattern with 3-dB beamwidths 65.8±2.9° at H-plane from 1.7 to 2.7GHz are achieved.
