Abstract
A wideband circularly polarized (CP) rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented. An Archimedean spiral slot is used to excite the rectangular DRA for wideband CP radiation. The operating principle of the proposed antenna is based on using a broadband feeding structure to excite the DRA. A prototype of the proposed antenna is designed, fabricated, and measured. Good agreement between the simulated and measured results is attained, and a wide 3-dB axial-ratio (AR) bandwidth of 25.5% is achieved.
