Abstract

The “wet and measure” (WAM) polarography requires only a thin layer/film of solution (about 0.025 ml, as a disk of thickness <0.15 cm) held by surface tension at the dropping (or hanging) mercury electrode via a silver ring electrode. The current‐voltage curves obtained by the WAM method are reproducible and are the same as those obtained by dipping the electrodes into the solution. Also, the oxygen maximum obtained in the bulk can be reproduced by the WAM method by using capillaries with small drop times.
