Abstract

Several graphical user interfaces were recently developed for OpenSees. They are able to define the numerical models and the consequent running of analyses. However, they can be only used on an own device, and need to be updated every time a new feature is released. Nowadays, the software as a service model allows hosting software in the cloud, then the user uses the software by an own account and from any internet-connected device. This kind of software is generally designed decoupling graphical user interface and part of code application with application program interfaces. In this direction, an important step-forward was the release of OpenSeesPy, a Python interpreter of OpenSees, which permits to construct an application program interface environment for OpenSees, accessible through an internet connection. This paper presents a web-based interface for some OpenSees commands. It consists of several reusable components, that can be organized by the user as she/he prefers. Components automatize the OpenSees workflow defining: model, geometry, materials, elements, and analysis scenarios. Then, the graphic user interface is designed to consume some application program interfaces, based on OpenSeesPy library, which perform the OpenSees calculations. Results are shown in tables, charts, and color-map.
