Abstract
The system, which provides edit and management tools of thematic map, can reduce the collection cost of urban environment data and increase the degree and scope of data share. This article shows composing of Web-based urban environment management system (Web-UEMS), supporting technologies, system architecture, database, system module, solutions of developing Web-UEMS, and appliances of Web-UEMS based on Java and Web on the view of exploitation and application. Supporting technologies includes ldquo3Srdquo technology, agent technology, virtual reality technology, management and storage of mass data. System shows four modules: information query, statistic, analysis, graphics edit and attribute edit and there are four solutions to develop Web-UEMS. Web-UEMS is mainly used in integrated management of basic information, dynamically monitoring environment, simulation and prediction of urban environment evolution, environment management, environment analysis and evaluation.
