Abstract
A triple band button antenna for body centric applications is proposed in this paper. The three bands of operation are 2.4 GHz, 5.6 GHz for WLAN applications and 9.2 GHz for radar applications. The antenna exhibits omnidirectional radiation pattern in all the three bands. This antenna has a very small size compared to all the existing button antennas with a length, width and height of 23.7mm, 23mm and 3.18 mm respectively. It has a gain of 2.53 dB in 2.4 GHz band, 3.26 dB in 5.6 GHz band and 4.0 dB in 9.2 GHz. This antenna is a unique design in its size and bands of operation. The parameters like reflection coefficient, VSWR, radiation pattern etc. are simulated for achieving better results. With its overall miniaturized size it can be used as a cuff button antenna which can be easily fabricated in clothes.
