Abstract

AbstractA network control architecture for WDM passive star topology is introduced with a suitable network interface unit that reduces the headers' electronic processing bottleneck at each station. Also, a queueing model with receiver collision analysis for a synchronous transmission protocol which restricts data channel collision improving the system performance, is developed. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
