Abstract

The authors propose a way of seismic microzoning by the engineering-geological method with the use of a seismic soil conditions model and of a local classification of soils by their seismic properties. Applying the local classification makes it possible to determine the increment of seismic intensity and/or other parameters of seismic effects on a considered surface with the accuracy of the initial data used for the calculation of the seismic properties of considered soils. This is a significant difference from the traditional way of seismic microzoning by the engineering-geological method, according to which the seismic intensity on the surface of the soil massif is assigned with an accuracy of 1 point by the MSK-64 scale in accordance with the soil category by its seismic properties.
