Abstract

Neuroprotection In the article 2200817 by Shaofeng Duan, Yuqi Guo, and co-workers, hyaluronic acid (HA)-based targeting delivery systems SS31-HA-Quercetin are synthesized with great water-solubility. This delivery system can penetrate the blood–brain barrier, enrich and release drugs at the site of ischemic injury, and finally enter the mitochondria to achieve tertiary targeted drug delivery, thus effectively protecting ischemic neurons by modulating reactive oxygen species to activate HIF-1α/TFEB-mediated mitochondrial autophagy.
