Abstract
Following ligation of left anterior descending coronary artery in dogs, low energy shocks delivered in the ventricular vulnerable period result in ventricular tachycardia—VT(υp). These disorders degenerate to ventricular fibrillation. VT(υp) can be reverted to sinus rhythm with transthoracic shocks of less than 1 Wsec. Within 7 days after infarction, VT(υp) can no longer be evoked. Similar arrhythmias have been noted in men with acute myocardial infarction.
