Abstract
This article discusses the dissemination of sports and games through postage stamps images. Commemorative stamps can be a powerful way of science communication, to persuade societies, in general, about the relevance of scientific research and what was made, for example, in the field of sports. We have analysed all Brazilian stamps issued from 1843 to 2010, separating and classifying those with connotations in sports. We also present a statistical distribution of postage stamps according to the various sports, in addition to a proposal to the use of this rich material during the teaching of sports and to increase the dissemination of the Brazilian sportive heritage.
