Abstract

Seismic tomography is a relatively young area of science, which originated in the 1970s. Seismic tomography methods for studying the structure and dynamics of magmatic sources beneath volcanic systems, as well as various types of volcanism related to intracontinental Cenozoic magmatic fields, collision areas, and subduction zones, are considered. A relationship is revealed between seismic property variations and stages of volcanic activity (preparation, actuation, and relaxation).
