Abstract
H. /1918/21 1948/50/From the conceptual, methodological, organizational and institutional points of view, guidance and counselling developed in accord with models of advanced capitalistic countries. /1957/1960 until n o w / Development of guidance and counselling has been connected with the transition of the Czechoslovak society into a socialist state. The theoretical, conceptual and organizational development of counselling services have progressed in accordance with the general model of the socialist society, its needs and aims. Guidance and counselling takes an active and creative part within the society to achieve these needs and aims. The Czechoslovak counselling system cooperates with counselling systems in other socialist countries. However, it systematically follows international trends in theory and practice, estimating their applicability to the Czechoslovak situation.
