Abstract

Transnational corporations, central actors in the world movement toward interdependence, are the focus of a four-point program designed by the U.N.9s Centre on Transnational Corporations. The author describes the Centre9s program, including the priority task to establish a code of conduct regarding such corporations; a computerized information system on these corporations9 activities; the need for research into the policies and impact of transnational corporations in developing nations; and the need for a technical cooperation program aimed at strengthening the negotiating capability of the developing countries.
