Abstract
This paper reviews a series of 158 patients aged 1 to 60 years who presented in Egypt with severe burn contractures. It describes in detail the management of severe burn contractures of the neck and introduces a technique of scar X-release that can be combined with split-skin grafting to give consistently satisfactory results in a one-stage operation.
