Abstract
With the improvement of people's traffic safety awareness, more and more vehicle are equipped with vehicular video camera, which can not only help solve common traffic accident economic disputes, but also provide important basic materials for in-depth investigation and research of vehicle traffic accidents. A method was proposed to reconstruct the vehicle motion in traffic accidents based on the vehicular video. The method applied 2D-DLT algorithm of Photogrammetry to the vehicular video images, detected the feathers in the road and their coordinates, then built the transformation between image coordinate system and world coordinate system, then solved the coordinates of vehicular camera's projection center point, finally calculated the parameters of vehicle motion via the coordinates of vehicular camera. An experiment was conducted to verify the method, and the errors of reconstruction was calculated to verification the method accuracy. The result of verification shows that, the method has high calculation accuracy and can truly restore the motion state of the vehicle in the traffic accident, and provides a true and objective data for the depth investigation of traffic accidents.
