Abstract

A vector control strategy of grid-connected brushless doubly fed induction generator (BDFIG) is proposed in this paper. Compared to other control strategies, proposed control can realize completely decoupled control, doesn't need to evaluate rotor flux, rotor current or control windings flux and has smaller dependency on BDFIG model and parameters, has a very similar controller structure as mature doubly fed induction generator(DFIG) vector control, therefore, it is much more applicable. In order to validate the proposed control strategy, verifications for a 64kW BDFIG are carried out, the results show that the proposed control strategy can effectively realize variable-speed-constant-frequency operation, active and reactive power decoupled control and have good dynamic and stable performance.
