Abstract

AbstractAn unusual antinuclear factor is described in a lupus erythematosus serum which shows L.E. cell activity. The serum was non‐reactive with nuclei of intact cells and with thymus nucleoprotein but demonstrated reactivity with leukocyte nuclei altered by mechanical trauma. It is suggested that this antinuclear factor is related to the L.E. cell activity of the serum and represents a second type of L.E. cell factor.
