Abstract

Due to the lack of operation data in the planning stage of virtual power plant construction, it is difficult to accurately evaluate the investment income of virtual power plant. This paper proposes an annual utilization hours estimation method of virtual power plant based on the load characteristics of urban power grid. Through the annual load duration curve, the utilization hours of peak shaving and valley filling scenarios are calculated. According to the scenarios, the upper and lower limits of income are calculated. Then a method is proposed to simulate the profit of virtual power plant participating in frequency regulation market and calculate the revenue of reserve market based on historical AGC frequency regulation command. Finally, taking the demonstration project of Shenzhen 200MW capacity virtual power plant as an example, the upper and lower limits of income obtained by Shenzhen virtual power plant participating in different markets are calculated, and the payback period of project investment is given. In the planning and construction stage of virtual power plant, there is a lack of operation data support. The method proposed in this paper can well guide the planning and construction of virtual power plant in urban power grid.
