Abstract

Phenomena such as inattentional blindness and change blindness are responsible for humans’ inability to detect objects that are within plain sight. Humans will perceive objects that are relevant to their current task, and will not notice, or give attention to, objects within sight that are irrelevant to the current task. This thesis presents a novel approach to creating a visual narrative based on research in inattentional blindness and change blindness. It will allow these phenomena to add an alternate perspective to the way a story is perceived. Existing research in visual perception phenomena will inform this production, and the visual narrative will be in the form ofa digital animation.%%%%M.S., Digital Media – Drexel University, 2012
