Abstract
A simple phenomenological non-relativistic colored quark model relates meson and baryon masses. All baryon mass splittings in the low-lying 56 and the 5 2 − and 7 2 + orbital excitations are predicted from experimental meson mass splittings with no additional free parameters. For the four quark system the model predicts a rich closely spaced spectrum for “baryonium” states.
