Abstract
This paper presents a unified content and service digital museum (UCSDM) concept model to depict the issues of unifying global content, services and users and connecting numerous value-added applications in both virtual and physical spaces to meet the needs of individuals and target groups from a global and long-term perspective. A unified content and service management system framework, which comprises the unified content and processes, unified content and services structures, and a unified content and service management system to fulfil the UCSDM concept model is proposed. A practical implementation of a large-scale digital museum project that includes virtual and physical content, services, and users of a natural science museum has been successfully implemented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed framework.
