Abstract

With main emphasis on string threshold corrections, unification condition is studied for Calabi-Yau superstring models with the anti-generation number h11 = 1. Due to the threshold corrections gauge couplings always join at the energy larger than the string scale for this class of models. By analysing the running of non-abelian gauge couplings we can test whether the unification condition is fulfilled or not. Applying the unification condition to four-generation superstring models, we find a consistent model in which the gauge symmetry at the string scale is SU(4) ×SU(2) ×U(1) ×U(1).
