Abstract

In June 2019, when the United Nations declared the intention to create a dialogue around ‘The Future we want, the UN we need’, it was impossible to imagine that the world would be in a global pandemic in 2020. Now, it is important to ask: what can the UN do to shape the future world order? At its core, this is a fundamental question of how - or whether or not - it is possible to sustain the current global sense of solidarity and turn back to experts and institutions to facilitate a series of fundamental reforms that will transform the way the UN works for the next 75 years.
