Abstract
Data Collection Platforms (DCPs) for remote, automatic in-situ measurement of environmental parameters have been in operation for almost a decade with satellites such as ATS-1, SMS GOES, LANDSAT, TIROS series, Bhaskara I * II etc. The UHF transmitters of such DCPs will have to incorporate many unique features and are expected to meet stringent performance requirements. This article describes the UHF transmitter developed at the Space Applications Centre for India's first operational DCP system that will work in conjunction with INSAT-1.
