Abstract

A U(1) X U(1) Yukuwa Model with staggered fermions is investigated in the broken phase. As a first step different approaches to studying spontaneous symmetry breaking on finite lattices are examined. Our ultimate goal is to obtain renormalized couplings near the continuum limit, to check for triviality and to estimate upper bounds for physical masses. Preliminary results indicate that renormalized Yukawa couplings may never be much larger than the value dictated by tree-level s-wave unitarity bounds for fermion antifermion elastic scattering.
