Abstract
We present a hierarchical state estimator appropriate for the monitoring of large-scale electric power systems. Two interesting in practice organization schemes are considered and discussed. The problem of bad data analysis is also investigated; it is shown that the hierarchical approach contributes making this analysis easy, fast and efficient.
