Abstract
Grain-oriented steel sheet is modelled assuming 180° domain walls and a perfect texture. Equilibrium calculations are performed taking into account domain wall displacements and coherent rotations of the polarization. The equilibria calculated turn unstable at certain conditions leading to jumps of the total polarization.
