Abstract

A feature of the human visual system (HVS) is color constancy, namely, the ability to determine the color under varying illuminationconditions. Retinex theory, formulated by Edwin H. Land, aimed tosimulate and explain how the HVS perceives color. In this paper, weestablish a total variation (TV) and nonlocal TV regularized modelof Retinex theory that can be solved by a fast computationalapproach based on Bregman iteration. We demonstrate the performanceof our method by numerical results.
