Abstract

A turbo multiuser detector based on the reliability of the samples is proposed. Reliability thresholds are used to classify a sample as reliable or not. The detector complexity decreases each time a sample is classified as reliable. The proposed detector can reach similar performance, when compared to the turbo multiuser detector, but with smaller complexity. Performance is evaluated in terms of bit error rate and complexity obtained by simulation, as a function of signal-to-noise ratio and the reliability threshold. We present the performance results for different processing gain. These results can be applied to code division multiple access and orthogonal frequency division multiple access systems.
