Abstract
This issue of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry is a tribute to the leadership, dedication, and performance of many individuals who have contributed to its success during the past 50 years. The origin of the Journal began in 1950 when the leadership from 3 organizations, the Academy of Prosthodontics (formerly the Academy of Denture Prosthetics), the American Prosthodontic Society (formerly the American Denture Society), and the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists, recognized the need for the interchange of ideas among individuals interested in restorative and prosthetic dentistry.
