Abstract

Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENG) are widely used because they can convert different forms of mechanical energy in the environment, such as wind and ocean energy, into electrical energy. However, the performance of TENG is greatly affected by the ambient temperature, so it is an urgent problem to ensure the efficient and stable work of TENG in the changing environment. From the point of view of the material, it can be concluded that the ambient temperature will change the dielectric constant of the triboelectric layer material, which is closely related to the performance of TENG. In this paper, BaTiO 3 -based ceramic powder is used to prepare high dielectric constant materials, which are stable to temperature, and mixed with PDMS to form a composite film, which is used as a triboelectric layer on TENG. The open-circuit voltage ( V OC ) and short-circuit current ( I SC ) of the composite film-based triboelectric nanogenerator(C-TENG) are 72.2 V and 1.82 μA, respectively, and the electrical performance of C-TENG is better than that of the traditional PDMS film triboelectric nanogenerator (P-TENG), whose V OC and I SC are 22 V and 0.65 μA respectively. C-TENG also lights up 53 LEDs or acts as a power source for a calculator, proving that the C-TENG can be used as a power source for self-powered devices. This experiment not only improves the performance of TENG from the point of view of the material but also reduces the sensitivity to ambient temperature, making the use of TENG more abundant in scenarios. • The temperature-stable triboelectric nanogenerator was fabricated using the composite film made from BaTiO 3 -based (C-TENG). • The V OC is 72.2V, increasing electrical performance by 228%. • The C-TENG lights up 53 LEDs and acts as a power source for the calculator.
