Abstract

This paper describes the operating performances of the loom using the multi-rapier weft insertion system accelerated by the compressed air. The basic structure of the multi-rapier is the same as one described in the Part 1 published in Vol. 26, P667-676.The weaving speed of the loom is 59 rpm, almost equal to the mechanically accelerated multi-rapier loom described in the Part 1. The discussions on the relation between the rapier's motion and the air pressure inside the cylinder has shown that it is considered easy to increase the loom speed comparing with the mechanical method described in Part 1.
