Abstract

AbstractReal-time Multi-Parameter monitoring of transmission lines is essential to power grid security. Timely condition information ensures emergency action under adverse conditions. Compared with electrical sensors, Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors are immune to electromagnetic interference and can work without power supply. FBG sensors measure reflected light rather than scattered light, which is stronger signal than distributed sensing system, so it is easier to achieve long-distance sensing. In this paper, a multi-parameter transmission monitoring system line is proposed based on FBG sensors. A FBG tension with a variable measuring range was designed for tension towers, which can achieve high measuring precision under low tension and ensure reliability under high tension simultaneously. To simplify the multiplexed multi-parameter monitoring system, a bidirectional anemometer was bidirectional structure was contrived. With the structure, the number of FBGs can be reduced by half. The multiplexed system is able to monitor temperature, humility, wind speed, tilt angle and conductor tension at the same time.KeywordsFiber Bragg Grating (FBG)Transmission lineMulti-parameter monitoring system
