Abstract

A Training system of myoelectric prosthetic hand for upper limb amputees is developed using virtual reality technology in which amputee can train in the virtual environment. A new training method for skill acquisition of EMG prosthesis is also proposed using the system. We hypothesize that efficacy of training depends on difficulty of given task, thus, it is important to set appropriate difficulty to task according to the current level of trainee. Thus, we propose a training method that control success rate for given tasks by changing difficulty of the task virtually according to the trainee's condition. In this paper, we clarify effectiveness of training method and effect of amount of assist on training results.
