Abstract
In this chapter, we meet Dee Fletcher, a young woman who developed a profound visual deficit following carbon monoxide poisoning. Dee cannot recognize objects on the basis of their shape but can still see colors and visual textures. This inability to recognize objects on the basis of their form is called ‘apperceptive agnosia’ or ‘visual form agnosia’. Other kinds of visual agnosias are discussed. We learn that Dee has no obvious motor disabilities.
