Abstract
Dectin-1 is known for promoting anti-fungal responses through the signaling molecule Card9. In this issue of Immunity, Deerhake etal. now report that during autoimmune neuroinflammation, Dectin-1 can promote a neuroprotective feed-forward pathway through Card9-independent upregulation of Oncostatin M.
