Abstract
A new steroidal saponin named diurnoside 1 has been isolated from a methanolic extract of fresh leaves of Cestrum diurnum and the structure, (25 R)-5α-spirostan-3β-yl-4- O-{[2- O-(β- d-glucopyranosyl)-β- d-glucopyranosyl]-3}- O-[β- d-xylopyranosyl]-β- d-gluop techniques and chemical reactions.
