Abstract

From The hermeneutics of the subject, lectures given by Michel Foucault at the College de France in 1981-82, this article explores the significance of the so-called “ethical turn” in Foucault’s philosophy and its relation to the imperative moral of care of self in the Greek-roman antiquity.
