Abstract
Introduction IN REFERENCE 1, formulas were obtained for the pressure induced on a rigid, moving plate by a plane acoustic shock wave striking the plate a t a given angle. The edge of the plate was assumed to be parallel to the shock wave, and the analysis was therefore two-dimensional. In the present paper this restriction is removed. By suitable transformation, the case of a shock wave oblique to the edge of a semi-infinite plate can be solved in terms of the two-dimensional solution.
