Abstract

This paper proposes a new three-dimensional bit-level image encryption scheme with Rubik’s cube method (3D-BERC). In the permutation process, the Rubik’s cube method and bit-level encryption principle are combined to realize the image scrambling operation in three-dimensional space. Through the contraction mapping principle, the ascending and reducing dimension operation can be implemented effectively. In the diffusion process, we design an improved two-dimensional diffusion structure, which can spread slight change in plain image to the whole cipher image. Experimental results and simulation analysis illustrate the security and the validity of the proposed scheme.
