Abstract

The composition of the three-phase liquid system based on potassium orthobenzoate in a water-dioxane solvent was studied. The phases were found to contain benzoic and orthobenzoic acid salts in various association states. The middle layer was considered. Its composition was indicative of the formation of a potassium complex with oxygen-containing ligands. The structure of this complex was similar to that of the associative crown ether structure.
