Abstract
Summary The results of a theoretical investigation carried out in the Department of Civil Engineering of the Indian Institute of Science to determine the stress distribution in the anchorage zone of a post-tensioned concrete beam are described. The problem was idealized as that of a circular concrete beam with a co-axial cable duct due to the application of circular concentrated load at one of its ends. A three-dimensional elasticity solution satisfying all the equations is given and the resulting numerical results are compared with those of other investigators.
